The 5 Best Nursery & Toddler Care Centres in Sydney Trusted by Parents!

Curriculum and Learning Approach: I looked closely at the educational frameworks guiding each facility to ensure they foster real cognitive growth. Facilities offering child-led and structured learning environments scored higher on my list.

Convenience for Working Families: Balancing a career and a baby requires logistical support, so I evaluated operating hours and location accessibility. Centres that provide all-inclusive essentials like meals and daily nappies stood out as immediate lifesavers.

Staff Qualifications and Engagement: A building is only as good as the people inside it, so I checked the specialised training of the educators. Having dedicated experts for infants and university-qualified teachers for older toddlers is a major priority.

Facility Safety and Environment: The physical spaces need to be secure and stimulating to keep curious minds safely occupied. I prioritised places with purposeful layouts and age-appropriate play zones.

You want a secure, nurturing environment where your child actually thrives, but the options in Sydney are numerous! The daily juggle is already exhausting, and adding the search to that is just terrible.

After looking closely at the options and chatting with fellow parents navigating this same season of life, I’ve put together a guide to the best nursery and toddler care centres in Sydney.

Leaving your child all day is hard enough without having to pack a heavy bag of supplies every single morning. Little Scriblers removes that burden by offering an all-inclusive experience.

Here, they blend the Montessori and Reggio Emilia teaching philosophies to foster independence. They even bring in a qualified orthoptist for complimentary vision screenings before the children transition to primary school, catching hidden issues early.

When my sister was struggling to balance her return to the office, she enrolled my nephew here, and the shift in his daily confidence was immediate.

The only real downside is their standard weekday operating hours, which means shift workers will need to figure out alternative weekend care.

Still, their dedicated STEAM curriculum creates a nurturing environment that truly prepares toddlers for their educational future.

Pros

  • All-inclusive daily essentials provided
  • Multiple accessible Sydney locations
  • Favourable hours for full-time workers
  • Specialised infant support program

Cons

  • No weekend or after-hours availability

Highly recommend Little Scribblers Brookvale ELC. My kids are well looked after and always had a great time.

The staff are friendly and know what nurturing and your children are in good hand. They got National Quality standard making sure your children will have a good development and be ready for their good future school life.

I will always be forever greateful to all the educators who looked after my children. Thank you very much❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

My son went to Little Scribblers Brookvale when he was 3. Now he is in primary school, and his teacher asked me which preschool he attended because he is so well-prepared. He had already covered most of the curriculum and knows much of what is being taught now. The Scribblers kindergarten class and school readiness program really helped him transition smoothly into big school. I truly appreciate the effort of the teachers and highly recommend this centre. If I could, I would give more than 5 stars for the wonderful environment and service Scribblers provides.

Trust is everything when handing over your infant, and a provider with over 125 years of history brings a unique sense of comfort.

Operating as a not-for-profit organisation, they intentionally reinvest their surplus into upgrading play spaces and supporting staff instead of prioritising corporate dividends.

Notably, their core philosophy revolves around giving children a voice in their own learning, focusing heavily on social-emotional development.

However, parents looking for infant care might hit a roadblock, as many of their Sydney locations restrict enrollment to children over three years old.

You’ll also find that some sites operate strictly on shorter school hours and require you to pack daily lunches.

Despite those logistical hurdles, their integrated government inclusion programs and allied health services provide exceptional support for families.

Pros

  • Extensive historical track record
  • Not-for-profit reinvestment model
  • Integrated allied health services
  • Social-emotional focused curriculum

Cons

  • Age restrictions at specific locations
  • Shorter operating hours at select sites

My son has been attending KU Treehouse for almost a year and the experience is nothing but positive. The best part of it is the staffing! I can see that they genuinely care for him, the interaction is warm and respectful. They put so much effort to ensure my child feels belong, loved and comfortable. The staffing is also consistent (no one resign since my child started) and they are very knowledgable in sharing strategy when i need help as a first time parent. The place is also very clean ++

Enrolled both my children at Tree House and highly recommend. All of the teachers are so lovely & have lots of experience looking after children. I feel comfortable and confident that they are in the best hands while there. Both get so excited each morning when we arrive & never want to leave when picked up – a parents dream!

Navigating the Central Business District with a stroller is a logistical nightmare, making a facility located right at the Wynyard Train Station exit a massive relief.

For starters, they have a high-tech approach to childcare that includes biometric security access.

Their encrypted parent app also delivers real-time updates on feeding and sleeping. This gives working parents immense peace of mind while they are stuck in office meetings.

Unfortunately, this level of premium convenience and prime real estate comes with a noticeably higher daily fee compared to suburban alternatives.

Families will also need to trade the sprawling natural grass yards for custom-designed indoor playscapes due to the high-rise setting.

Nonetheless, even with the urban constraints, their comprehensive service covers five chef-prepared meals a day and baked-in extracurriculars.

Pros

  • Prime central transit location
  • Encrypted real-time parent app
  • Five daily chef-prepared meals
  • Custom-engineered indoor playscapes

Cons

  • Higher daily fee
  • Lack of natural outdoor grass areas

Kids Club is a beautiful centre that has cared for my two babies. The centre has a lot of love and there is care taken with each child. The centre has a beautiful outdoor play area and the staff turnover is low. Thank you for everything Kids Club Clarence Street.

The childcare at Kids Club Clarence Street is exceptional in every way when compared to other childcare centres we have tried, they really care and help the children develop.Friendly and understanding staff that are willing to go the extra mile when children need it.Special thanks to Jenny & Nat and all the teachers that took care of my boy.

The transition back to the office can be incredibly emotional, especially during those vulnerable first 12 months, and Guardian addresses that specific anxiety.

They employ dedicated Baby Ambassadors who guide families through early developmental milestones and provide specialised infant support.

They also run a Reggio Emilia-inspired curriculum alongside a robust on-site nutritional program to teach healthy eating habits early.

A colleague of mine sends her daughter here and frequently mentions how these experts helped ease her transition back to corporate life.

On the downside, being situated in a busy high-rise does mean the outdoor play areas are architecturally integrated rather than expansive natural spaces.

Also, the demand for these premium spots is fiercely competitive, so families will need to get on their waitlist very early.

Pros

  • Dedicated infant support staff
  • All-inclusive daily essentials
  • Fresh on-site nutritional program
  • Sensory-rich learning environments

Cons

  • Highly competitive waitlists
  • Enclosed outdoor spaces

The centre looks really nice and tidy, my daughter started when she’s around 7 months, although she only comes one day a week, the educators will always includes her, writing observation and you can really see how they cared and love to be around children. The educators always very helpful, happy, and positive. The CM also very thoughtful, supportive and always communicating everything that happened in the centre. I’m glad that my daughter becomes a part of George Street community! 😍

My daughter thoroughly enjoys her time at George Street. It’s a beautiful, spacious centre with plenty of room for the children to play, explore, and learn. We especially love the excursion program, which gives the children opportunities to get out and engage with the community. It’s been a wonderful experience for our family!

Finding a corporate-run daycare is easy, but discovering an individually owned and operated centre right in the city offers a completely different level of accountability.

At Explore and Develop, having the owner on-site every single day ensures a highly personalised approach to care and direct communication for families.

They even cater to long commutes by providing a full dinner option, which is an absolute lifesaver when you are rushing to pick up your child.

However, their daily rates are definitely on the higher end of the spectrum, sitting around $207 per day for the younger rooms. The urban location also means children play in glass-covered atriums instead of traditional grassy yards.

Nonetheless, they balance this beautifully by organising regular excursions to local parks, familiarising toddlers with the city before they eventually transition into private schools.

Pros

  • Direct owner-operator oversight
  • Full meal service, including dinner
  • Complimentary undercover parking
  • Two separate age-specific infant rooms

Cons

  • Premium daily rates
  • No traditional grassy yards

We were at Explore and Develop from baby room all the way to the preschool room.  Our little one had a great time there, with great carers throughout all stages.  At Every single stage of our child’s development we were lucky enough to have carers who just went out of their way to engage with the kids with various developmental activities, excursions and incursions (for e.g. Thursday sports where Coach Al comes for a sports coaching) Very happy to recommend them to other parents.

Paul and all the staff here are exceptional! They provided a fun learning environment for our son that was safe.  The food provided was also exceptional with a wide variety of food provided while remaining conscious of food allergies.  Overall a great experience!  Thank you Paul.
