The 5 Best Voice Lessons in Sydney to Unleash Your Inner Sound!

Teaching Expertise: We looked closely at the professional background of each instructor to ensure they have real industry experience. Coaches with a proven track record offer far more practical value to aspiring singers.

Curriculum Flexibility: A rigid syllabus rarely works for creative arts, so we prioritised studios that adapt their methods to individual students. We favoured places that allow you to sing the genres you actually enjoy.

Performance Opportunities: Building confidence requires an audience, so we checked if the studios organise live showcases or open mic nights. Performances are essential for overcoming stage fright and refining your presence.

Value and Pricing: Learning to sing is an investment, so we evaluated the fairness of the rates and the availability of lesson packages. We paid attention to hidden fees and strict cancellation policies that might impact your budget.

We’ve all sung in the shower, belting out Tina Arena songs and pretending no one can hear. But if you’re serious about it, take it to the next level and hold a microphone, rather than a shampoo bottle.

If you’re ready to take the next step, we’ve got you covered! We looked high and low for the best voice lesson schools in Sydney and reviewed them based on curriculum, teaching expertise, and stage opportunities.

From total beginners wanting to hit the right notes to singers preparing to perform in a music venue, here are our top picks that offer exceptional training!

Comfortable lessons for significant improvement

I highly recommend Hayley at Singing Sydney. From my very first lesson, Hayley made me feel comfortable & relaxed enough to really get into the lesson. Not only will she teach you all the tricks of the trade, but she’ll make you laugh along the way. Sessions are structured so you get the practise you need, in order to start making progress from the start. After a few lessons, I realised, if you put the hard work in, almost anyone can learn how to improve & project their voice. If I can improve on my voice, then you most definitely can 😛

Enthusiastic support and fun environment

Hayley and Dean’s love of singing makes this singing school special! As well as being amazing vocal teachers their enthusiastic support encourages you to go out of your comfort zone and achieve things you never thought you could do. Fun and inclusive environment to learn in. Highly recommend.

Within the first 5 minutes of our lesson, he was able to identify exactly what my vocal issues were and already after only 2 lessons I feel so much more confident in my voice. He has a gift!! I would recommend him to absolutely everybody

Encouraging lessons that really work

I’ve been taking lessons with Deb for a few months now and I can really hear a difference in my voice! She’s a fantastic teacher and is so encouraging and supportive. We’ve recently begun doing online lessons and they’re just as great as doing them in person, no different at all! Highly recommend to anyone interested in learning how to sing!

Fantastic support for nervous singers

I’ve been taking lessons with Emily for a few months. They are a highlight of my week. She’s fantastic- especially good at helping nervous singers  feel at ease. She uses different techniques and exercises to work on things like tone, vocal strength and projection. Even after a relatively short period of lessons my pitch and tone have improved and my confidence is slowly growing. I highly recommend Emily as a teacher.

Comfortable lessons for first timers

Great school! Super lovely staff. I had a couple of lessons with Ken and he made me feel super comfortable and at ease even though I was sure I was going to cry in my first lesson because I’ve never sung in front of anyone before. He helped me choose some songs to sing for homework and practice in between lessons and added some more songs to my list that I can sing/that are good for my voice. Definitely recommend this school and Ken!

Encouraging and knowledgeable beginner experience

I’ve been learning from Ken Loh for over 6 months as a beginner and it’s been a wonderful experience. Ken is encouraging, supportive, knowledgeable, fun and warm to learn from.  I’m comfortable to ask any questions and am more informed about singing after each lesson.  The classes are filled with theory, practice, voice training, great songs and joy! I’m truly grateful to be at unlock your voice and to improve my singing with Ken’s guidance. I’m loving singing more and more each day! Thank you to Unlock your voice and Ken!
