Paddington Markets is best for fashion, accessories, and one-of-a-kind gifts, where you’ll find a mix of emerging designers and unique handmade items. It has been operating since 1973, with around 150 stalls across Australia.

Last time I went there, I enjoyed my shopping experience, as everything was at an affordable price. I was able to manage my budget, and even treat myself to good food.

I love the products, as they were made from durable, colorful materials. For instance, I bought a bag here that can hold up to 20 kilograms and has the most comfortable wide straps I’ve ever used.

Most of the goods here are handmade and of noticeably higher quality compared to typical market finds.

The market features a mix of regular and rotating vendors – with about 40 stalls each week. Some vendors are there weekly, while others are there just once a month.

Most of the offerings here are food-focused. That’s why it’s a top spot for tasting local artisan cheese, dairy, and other fresh finds.

If you’re going to ask what my favorite is, it’s the bread from Bread and Butter Project – a social enterprise that trains refugees to become skilled bakers. I love pairing it with the smoked fish from Brilliant Food.

What makes my experience here memorable is the people. Vendors are very accommodating and friendly. I felt safe and secure.
