The 5 Companies to Get the Best Window Replacements in Sydney

Turnaround Times: I prioritized companies that can deliver fast and reliable services without compromising job quality. We also considered those companies that offer round-the-clock emergency services.

Service Quality: I looked for companies that not only claim to provide quality service but are also backed by real customer feedback. Factors like responsiveness, professionalism, and turnaround were taken into consideration.

Wide Selection: I selected the companies that offer multiple window types and materials to suit different homes and budgets.

Material Quality: I also considered the companies that offer durable and quality materials that can improve a home or business space.

I’ve spent enough time dealing with the rattling windows in my old apartment, and I can tell you that it’s the most annoying thing in the world. Not to mention, it didn’t seem to do anything during chilly nights.

That’s not the only challenging part; my landlord was a tough nut to crack. But I was as persistent in convincing him as he was in shrugging me off. I even did my own research and recommended some good window replacement companies in Sydney.

And when he finally gave in to getting the windows replaced, boy, did I sleep the following nights.

If you’re planning to upgrade your windows too, here are the ones I found worth checking out.

How much do window replacement services cost in Sydney?

Window replacement services in Sydney can cost between $200 and $2,000 per window, including installation. The cost depends on factors like the window type, frame material, style, and more.

1. O’Brien Glass Sydney

Address: 32 Bentley St, Wetherill Park

Phone: +61 1800 719 644

Business hours: 24 hours

Website

The main thing that gave me confidence in O’Brien’s capabilities is that they’ve been in business for over 100 years and have over 261 locations nationwide. They even have six branches spread around Sydney.

I think they’re one of the most convenient partners due to their flexible services. First, they have 24/7 emergency support, which is very helpful for urgent glass needs.

Plus, they support a comprehensive list of window replacement/installation needs, whether it’s for business or privacy purposes.

In fact, many parents come to them for safety and security concerns at home, saying that the O’Brien team’s safety glass gave them peace of mind. They said it’s not only child-safe but also keeps the home protected from break-ins.

Business owners also shared the same sentiments. Replacing their vulnerable shopfront windows with O’Brien’s Bandit Resistance Glass gave them the assurance that they’d be safe inside their shops.

Plus, the window glass has high resistance, so any forced entry is expected to be unsuccessful or delayed.

One thing to consider, though, is that homeowners also noted that O’Brien is a little more expensive than competitors for similar services. But most of them still think it’s worth it given the product’s quality.

Pros

  • Over 100 years of experience
  • Accessible
  • Comprehensive products
  • 24/7 emergency services
  • Flexible service
  • National network

Cons

  • More expensive
  • Exclusive of window frames

Absolute pleasure

Had a fantastic experience with Dean. He came to fix a broken window in my home and was an absolute pleasure to deal with. Dean was incredibly kind, respectful, and clearly takes pride in his work — the repair was done efficiently and to a high standard. His customer service truly stood out, going above and beyond in a way that really deserves recognition.”

You guys are legends.

“Had a wind-related accident with two of the windows at the business premises. Called Allianz to claim on our plate & glass insurance and was directed to O’Brien with a claim number. 1 phone call and we had an appointment booked with Damian to look at the job. He replaced 1 of the 2 windows in a matter of minutes. Could not replace the other one due to severe damages at the frame. He also secured the window with a wood panel before he left. 3 weeks later we received a follow-up phone call from O’Brien and had an appointment booked with Terry to come out and assess the frame. On the day, he took out the frame to be repaired offsite (apparently there are only 2 places left in Sydney who can repair such  an old frame). Terry promised to be back for installation in 3-4 weeks. He rocked up with Damian only 2 weeks later and both they get the job done. Superbly pleased with their professionalism and job quality. We reckon we found the best men for the job we had. Thank you O’Brien, Terry and Damian.”

Prestige Plus is a suitable choice if you’re eyeing thermal efficiency and noise reduction for your homes or businesses. They specialize in uPVC windows that can provide excellent insulation during warmer and colder months.

I asked some past customers, and they confirmed that there really are some significant changes in their homes after getting a window replacement from the Prestige Plus team.

They noted noise reduction and improved insulation, which helped lower their electricity bills.

And it’s not just about the functionality of the windows, but also their aesthetics. I saw through their past works that the team also offers a wide range of colors and designs.

Service-wise, homeowners appreciate that the team handled every part of the process efficiently. Unlike other companies that outsource to contractors, Prestige Plus will handle everything.

This is also a big deal, since I know how stressful it can be to get passed on from one handler to another. So, getting an all-in-house service saves customers so much time and energy.

Communication needs improvement, though. Some homeowners reported communication gaps, such as failing to send updates.

Pros

  • Energy-efficient designs
  • Noise insulation
  • Good warranties
  • All in-house team
  • Good range of designs

Cons

  • Communication gaps

Highly recommend Prestige Plus

“They took the time to show me different soundproofing options in their showroom as well as the different price points. They were quick to come and measure and turned around production and installation of the window very quickly. I’m very happy with the results and finally enjoying some quiet from noisy neighbours to be able to sleep.”

Great service

“Prestige replaced virtually every window and door in our home. The project cost as much as a new car, but we’ve now got double-glazed uPVC windows and doors throughout, which has given us a dramatic improvement in noise and thermal insulation, especially compared to our original windows. The doors are quite heavy and do sag a bit over time, but adjustment is easy enough in the hinges.”

The company has been serving residents and businesses with window and door services for over 25 years, specializing in aluminium products across a wide range.

A major feature that homeowners go for is that the products are engineered for insulation and soundproofing. I find this especially helpful against Australia’s weather, and if you live in an area with a lot of vehicle and foot traffic.

Although aluminium is less insulating than uPVC, it’s still one of the top choices for homeowners because it’s low-maintenance and corrosion-resistant.

And since aluminium is a strong and durable material, it offers flexibility in design. So, I find Innovative Aluminium and Glass a great pick for those who want to customize their window frames without sacrificing quality.

Service-wise, homeowners told me the process with the team is straightforward, with everything delivered and installed within the agreed timeline. Clear communication is frequently praised as well.

Pros

  • Design-flexible
  • Energy and acoustic performance
  • Low-maintenance
  • Wide variety
  • Great customer service

Cons

  • Aluminium only

I’m a very happy customer.

“I thoroughly recommend Innovative Aluminium and Glass. They had excellent customer service from the very beginning. All the staff from the showroom, the supervisor to the team that installed the windows were very attentive, professional and friendly. The installation team were punctual and managed their time well. They were careful and cleaned up after the job. The windows are so sturdy and look amazing.”

Highly recommended

“I recently had the pleasure of working with Innovative Aluminium and Glass on installing windows for my balconies to reduce noise and dust, and I must say, I am absolutely impressed with the entire experience. I am so pleased with the quality of the windows and the overall service that I am now planning to use Innovative Aluminium and Glass for all my future projects, both for my house and my business. I am confident that no one else can offer such a high level of service, exceptional quality, and competitive pricing.”

Ultraframe is another company that provides high-quality uPVC windows for residential and commercial properties.

Ultraframe’s products are backed by the German-engineered Aluplast System, which means they not only provide superior energy efficiency but are also strong enough to prevent forced entry.

This factor made homeowners feel secure because they’re protected from both the weather and human threats. For landlords and property managers, the window’s strong qualities alone significantly boosted the value of their property.

While most people think uPVC windows are generally white, homeowners appreciate that Ultraframe offers a range of colors. This allows customers to match the windows to the overall aesthetic of their property.

Both homeowners and business owners commend Ultraframe for being consistent in providing quality service. They said working with the team was a breeze and posed no problems at all.

In fact, a lot of them were pleased and came back to do more projects with Ultraframe.

On the downside, uPVC window systems are bulkier and typically cost more than aluminium or timber.

Pros

  • Great for insulation and soundproofing
  • Strong and secure
  • Wide variety of products
  • Boosts property value
  • Color variety
  • Professional team

Cons

  • Bulkier
  • Higher cost

Big thanks

“We contacted Ultraframe initially to replace some really run down windows which were cracked and a security risk in our home when we first moved in. After the first project completed, we had Joe come back a second and third time to do a further four windows, two double glazed doors and two security screen doors. All of which were done to their high standard. The home feels so comfortable from the improved sound insulation and the improved temperature stability that their product provides. We would never go back to single pane windows.”

– Ryan Lin, Google Reviews

Fantastic job

“As part of our renovation, we chose Ultraframe to replace our kitchen window and entrance door. Alex, Joe and the team did a fantastic job. The work was done fast, super clean and flawless. In fact, it was so good, we had them come back and do the rest of the house. And again, the job was executed fantastically and super professional. I can only recommend UltraFrame, their team and the PVC product with double glazing. Forget about timber or aluminium windows. The street noise was also reduced by more than 75%, the house doesn’t sweat anymore and stays much warmer during cold winter nights. Thanks again guys.”

With Champion Windows’ 24/7 emergency service, I feel assured that I can ask for help at any time of the day. Clients I talked to said that all it takes is a quick phone call, and the team arrived in under an hour.

For non-emergency services, many homeowners mentioned that the team can complete the job on the same day as the initial call. You just have to call in and send a photo, then the quote will follow shortly after.

Even if you ask me, I think it’s pretty impressive how they’re able to come fast both for emergency and regular services.

However, they’re more of a general glass repair and replacement provider. If you’re looking to upgrade to energy-efficient or security windows, Champion Windows may not be the most suitable option.

Nevertheless, Champion Windows’ reliability is unmatched. Rates are very affordable too, so the services are accessible to many.

Pros

  • 24/7 emergency service
  • Fast turnaround
  • Free quote
  • Affordable rates
  • High-quality service

Cons

  • General services

Brilliant service from start to finish!

“They replied within minutes, showed up the same day, and had the window replaced in no time. Friendly, professional, and budget-friendly. Couldn’t recommend them more!”
