The 5 Best Photo Booth Rentals in Sydney That’ll Surely Entertain Your Guests

  • Photo Quality and Printing Options: We favoured photo booths with high-resolution cameras and complete lighting to get those sharp and clear images. Those with fast printing and provides digital copies ranked higher.
  • Booth Features: We also considered the features each booth offers, like enclosed vs open-air setups, backdrops, and 360-degree options. Interactive and flexible booths scored higher on our list.
  • Customer Experience: We aimed for reliable and helpful service, preferably those with an easy booking process, on-time setup, and professional attendants. We asked some previous clients to confirm this.
  • Packages: We didn’t forget about pricing and packages. Photo booth rentals with reasonable pricing in terms of session lengths, number of prints, and add-ons earned our favour.

It all started with a single snapshot at a colleague’s birthday party – and suddenly everyone was hooked. Photo booths aren’t new. But the 360-degree video feature and free-quality prints? That’s a whole new level of fun.

Now, as we prepare to host a corporate gala, we wanted the same “wow” factor. We’re looking for something fun and interactive, and one that can also provide crisp prints and creative props.

Determined to find the best options, we tapped our contacts, ran online surveys, and talked to actual event organisers in the city. Below are the top photo booth rentals in Sydney that stood out to us for their picture-perfect results and excellent service!

How much does it cost to rent a photo booth in Sydney?

Photo booth rentals in Sydney may cost from $300 to $1,500 and up, depending on the duration and booth type. Mirror, open-air, and 360 photo booths are more expensive than basic options. Extra hours also add to the total cost.

1. Candid Snaps

Candid Snaps won us over because of their classic snaps. Unlike other photo booths with lots of gimmicks, Candid Snaps is the total opposite (but in a good way).

They purposely skip providing props to keep a classic, polished look. This allows the focus to stay on the guests. Also, you’ll get timeless photos that feel like professional portraits rather than party snapshots, which we appreciate.

Their equipment setup is also great. DSLR cameras and complete studio lighting to get sharp, well-lit photos that remain consistent throughout the event. So, even in dimly lit venues, shots look polished.

They also make up for the lack of props through their backdrops. Those nonchalant backdrops, like neutral tones and simple textures, are just perfect for looking easy on the eyes.

Apart from that, we love that photos are instantly downloadable. It allows guests to have copies right away and post them on their socials before leaving the venue.

Overall, Candid Snaps is a great option, especially for weddings, corporate events, and formal occasions. It’s just that their minimalist approach may feel a bit less playful if you’re after something more high-energy or quirky.

Pros

  • Focused on producing classic snaps
  • With professional DSLR cameras and studio lighting
  • Caters to themed layouts on prints
  • Offers instantly downloadable photos
  • Professional and friendly attendants
  • Uses wrinkle-free backdrops
  • Reasonable pricing

Cons

  • Classic vibe might not suit every event

We found Spin Pod 360 to be one of the best photobooths in Sydney for fun, lively events. They caught our eye with their immersive 360-degree videos that seem to be a hit among younger generations.

We like their cutting-edge format, especially the cinematic effect. We think it fits those social-savvy crowds.

The setup is very professional too. They use a high-quality camera, high-output LED lighting, and a spacious, stable 360° platform.

From what we’ve heard, the video quality and sound are also top-notch. It complements the event vibe, and every movement and laugh was clearly captured.

Clients shared that the attendants who also set up the equipment are nice and efficient. They arrive early to ensure there are no delays and gladly assist guests during the event.

This level of support reduces the stress for hosts, and that’s exactly what we’re looking for.

However, since their setup uses a platform, you also need to allocate space for it. It’s not ideal for smaller venues.

Also, expect it to be priced higher than traditional or standard photo booths.

Pros

  • Offers 360-degree slow-motion video capture
  • Instant digital sharing via email, SMS, or social media
  • On-time setup
  • Comes with professional attendants
  • More of an activity than a quick snapshot
  • Fits almost any event

Cons

  • Requires more space to set up
  • Higher rates

3. CrazyBooth

CrazyBooth offers one of the most affordable photo booths in Sydney. But don’t be fooled by the price, because the quality of the photos doesn’t fall behind the expensive ones.

Beyond the prices, we love how customisable the photo booth experience is. They have a great collection of backdrops to choose from, allowing you to personalise the photo booth vibe for your guests.

We also like that they offer unlimited clicks and instant prints. Some photo booth rentals have caps on their sessions, which can be frustrating.

We also find their add-ons interesting. You can add audio guestbooks, magnetic prints, and online gallery access to your guests.

Customer service is great too. In fact, a client thanked the team for staying for 15 more minutes to cater to the remaining guests.

That said, if you’re after interactive features, this isn’t the booth for you. They’re more on the standard open-air photo booths.

Pros

  • Can customise templates and backdrops
  • Comes with unlimited photos and instant prints
  • Utilises DSLR cameras
  • Smooth operation from friendly attendants
  • Fun add-ons available
  • Competitive starting price

Cons

  • Has no interactive features

Son of a Booth leans toward a more premium, personalised experience. They don’t print logos on the strips, which allows guests to take home keepsakes that feel personal rather than branded or commercialised.

Print quality is consistently excellent too. The images are sharp, with vibrant colours. The physical prints are also durable enough to display at home.

We also love how diverse their props are. They range from silly hats to themed accessories, adding a playful dimension that doesn’t really cheapen or overwhelm the setup.

Digital access is convenient too. Guests can quickly download digital photos via QR code, and hosts receive a private, online album.

The only minor inconvenience is the deposit required upon booking. It’s not a dealbreaker for us since it’s understandable that the business also wants to protect itself.

  • Unlimited clicks per session
  • Utilises professional equipment
  • Fully customisable print designs
  • Can choose between strips or postcards
  • Prints don’t have their logo in it

Mr. Booths definitely earned a spot on our list for offering multiple booth styles under one roof. They cover a lot of ground, from 360-degree video setups and selfie stations to the mirror booth with a custom welcome screen to greet your guests.

They also have the standard photo booths for those looking for a budget-friendly option.

Having so many options makes it easier for hosts to match the booth to the event, venue size, and budget.

We also checked their packages and found that they offer solid value. Most offer unlimited prints and SMS direct sharing. There’s also an online digital album, great for keeping physical and digital memories.

When it comes to their backdrop and props, they don’t fall last either. From floral to a more bold background and fun props, they have it.

If there’s one thing to keep in mind, it’s that their pricing is on the higher side. They also don’t offer fixed pricing for corporate events, but they do provide a quote.

  • Huge selection of backdrop and props options
  • With an on-site attendant to set up and pack down
