The 5 Best Financial Advisors in Sydney for Smarter Investments
Confused and stressed in managing your money, planning your retirement, or growing your savings? It shouldn’t feel like that if you only have a financial advisor.
The challenge? There are lots of promising finance experts, and if this is your first time hiring one, it’s hard to know who actually has your best interests at heart and who’s just good at selling plans.
So, we decided to search for the best financial advisors in Sydney. We focused on experience, transparency, and how well they connect with people – not just numbers.
After extensive research and multiple rounds of interviews, here are the professionals we found you can trust for clear and honest guidance.
How much does a financial advisor charge in Sydney?
A financial advisor may charge from $200 to $500 per hour. However, some charge at fixed rates or on a percentage basis, depending on the assets. The ongoing advice annually also makes it even more pricey.
1. Financial Spectrum

Address: level 17/456 Kent St
Contact Details: +61282380888
Operating Hours:
- Monday – Friday: 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM
Financial Spectrum, with multiple branches, proves that they’re the man of convenience. We like that even if you’re outside Sydney, you can still access their planning services, making them a flexible option.
They do that through Zoom consultations, which is good news if you prefer the convenience of remote meetings without compromising on personal financial advice.
We’re also impressed that they’ve won various awards from the Worldwide Finance Awards and the IFA Excellence Awards. This speaks to their credibility and recognition.
Their services are comprehensive, covering everything from budgeting and cash flow to mortgages and borrowing. That makes them well-rounded and perfect for different financial stages.
Their financial advisors are also considerate and clear. They spend time listening to their clients’ goals without rushing the conversation. For us, this attitude means a lot as it shows a genuine commitment to providing personalised advice.
However, their director can be unresponsive to some concerns about particular advisors. A client mentioned that she escalated a concern to the director but received no response – she ended up asking for a refund instead.
Thoughtful and empathetic financial advisor

Thanks to his guidance, I now feel much more secure and clear about my financial direction. Highly recommend Parker for anyone looking for a thoughtful, empathetic, and thorough financial advisor.”

Sydney Financial Group won our favour because of their 26+ years of combined advisory experience. This alone gives us the confidence that their plans are backed by their real-world expertise.
Their workforce is also impressive. Unlike other short-staffed firms, they have 20+ experts ready to give timely advice, thorough planning, and consistent service across different financial needs.
On top of that, their offering doesn’t fall short. Do you need superannuation advice or retirement planning? They have it. Looking for risk management or tax planning? They also cater to such concerns.
In fact, a loyal client of theirs shared that he’s been with the company from planning his retirement through managing his pension account. He also mentioned that his advisor provided excellent tax advice that significantly increased his tax returns.
We also love how proactive they are when it comes to communication. They keep in touch with their clients, especially for follow-up meetings and progress updates.
The only downside is that they can be a bit expensive compared to other firms.

Their office in Edgecliff Mews Professional Centre is easy to access and provides a welcoming environment where you can discuss your financial goals comfortably.
Their 35 years of experience are not a joke, either. This long and solid background means they’ve seen it all, from market fluctuations to regulatory changes. That gives them an edge in giving confident and grounded financial advice.
Clients we talked to also noted that Sydney Financial Planning’s roadmap for achieving financial goals is easy to understand and follow.
We’re also satisfied with their areas of advice. They cater to investment planning, wealth creation, and superannuation, among other areas.
When it comes to their fees, they’re pretty reasonable. They have an initial meeting fee that can be waived if you’re referred by one of their clients or business partners.
The only thing to take note of is that they have a relatively small team compared to other companies.
Responsive financial advisor
“Huge thanks to Gary and the team at Sydney Financial Planning for helping us make sense of our current financial situation, and in giving us a great roadmap for our future years. Gary was able to break complex concepts down and explain them in a way that made sense to us. He took the time to really understand our goals, our lifestyle and what mattered most to us, both now in the future, devising a plan that has filled us with confidence. Gary is always available and responsive to our questions and always displayed his thorough knowledge and passion in this area.”

4. Montara Wealth

Address: 309, suite 1 level 6/315 George St
Contact Details: +61283303733
Operating Hours: Monday – Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
What initially caught our attention while looking into Montara Wealth is their free initial client meeting. It helps them get to know clients’ goals and how the team can help them achieve those goals.
As we dug deeper, we also found the financial advisors to be professional and personable. They don’t feel like superior advisors who talk about finance in a very technical way.
Instead, they explain the situation to clients and the solution that’s easy to understand and relatable. That alone makes the process feel easy, which is a huge plus in reducing the feeling of overwhelm.
Some of their specialised areas include cash flow management, tax planning, and investment property strategies.
A client we spoke with was very satisfied with how the team helped her find the right balance in building her investment portfolio without sacrificing her lifestyle.
The only disadvantage we found is that they have limited financial advisors, which may mean longer wait times.
Positive experience
“Ryan has been an incredible adviser to work with. He made complex financial decisions feel simple and gave us a clear sense of direction with our planning. Amy and Nina were also great in keeping everything smooth and well-organised. We’ve had such a positive experience and would happily recommend Ryan and the Montara Wealth team to anyone looking for supportive, reliable advice.”
-Mr. Joseph Brewer, Google Review

5. Delta Financial Group

Address: Level 11/22 Market St
Contact Details: +61293274338
Operating Hours: Monday – Friday: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
If you’re looking for a company that specialises in retirement planning, Delta Financial Group is worth considering.
Most of their clients are concerned about living a comfortable retirement. Think of 50+ year old professionals, tech executives, and 60+ year old retirees.
They’re also open to revising your retirement plan in case you want to adjust your goals or timelines. In fact, a client thanked the team for replanning his retirement plans so he could achieve his income goals and fund a comfortable retirement.
They offer other financial solutions as well, but we think they excel most and are more focused on providing long-term strategies to help you build and protect your wealth well into retirement.
Speaking of other areas, they also offer guidance and support on superannuation advice, debt recycling, and insurance advice.
Their diverse team also stood out to us. They’re composed of a principal financial advisor, a de-cluttering specialist, and a senior paraplanner, to name a few.
However, we just feel like they have limited financial advisors, limiting them in accepting more clients.
Consistent follow-ups
“Working with Mike and Jarrod has made us feel more confident in our financial decisions. Their flexibility and understanding, along with consistent follow-ups, have kept us accountable. They are very responsive, provide full visibility and transparency, always answering our questions quickly and in a timely manner.
We have particularly appreciated the cashflow management system, which put practical measures in place for managing day-to-day expenses and converting them into savings.
Mike has a talent for translating complex financial concepts and lingo into layman’s terms, keeping everything simple and easy to understand.
We now have a clear path to achieve our retirement income goals and can’t wait for retirement.”
-Mr. Kelli Sives, Google Review
Great road map
“Early retirement and being able to give our kids a head start has always been our plans, so we reached out to Mike to discuss how to make it happen. The financial road map he put in place is working very well and his team manages everything for us which if left to us would not get done.
We like that he is a boutique business working with a limited number of clients, so the client experience has been on point. We feel more confident that we can leave a legacy for our kids, and we are looking forward to pursuing more financial goals.
His service is ideal for time-poor executives who want to kick goals.”
