That being said, I’ve encountered a whole new problem: my battery. Look, I already forget to charge my phone sometimes when I’m rushing to get to work, but that’s not a luxury I can afford when we’re talking about a whole vehicle!

Luckily, I live around a couple of folks who also drive EVs. We’ve been looking into EV charger installers in Sydney, so we all have an easier spot to charge.

After going through some, we came up with favorites and compiled them into this handy list. Check them below!

Right off the bat, we appreciated how quickly the team responded to our inquiries about their services. From what we heard from customers, this same transparency and responsiveness also extended to their price quotes, making budgeting a little easier.

Speaking of customers, many also praised the quality of Pride’s actual installation services. The team was reportedly punctual during the day of the service, arriving during scheduled times and sending a heads-up beforehand.

The team is also very thorough throughout the process, determining the best spot for an EV charger and the recommended type for the building.

Well, the name doesn’t get clearer than this! Sydney EV Chargers was a frequent name among locals when we asked, and we promise it’s not just because of the name!

As it says on the tin, Sydney EV Chargers largely offered EV charger installation services for residential and commercial buildings, from single homes to apartments. They even offered Vehicle-to-Grid chargers to those interested in the new system.

What really caught our eye was the range of EV chargers they supplied and installed. They had EV chargers for various car brands, from brands like Tesla and Audi to Kia to Mercedes.

With that kind of inventory, we can see how it might be intimidating to choose one at first glance. Fortunately, the staff recommendations could generally be trusted.

We also appreciate the staff’s willingness to conduct thorough site assessments. This helped many determine which chargers are compatible with the existing power solutions throughout the building and which charger model fits.

One thing we do have to note is that finding their physical location to hopefully check out a demonstration of their EV chargers in person was quite difficult.

Pros

  • Wide variety of supported EV chargers
  • In-depth site assessments
  • Reliable staff recommendations

Cons

  • Difficulty finding the physical location

Friendly, professional and they knew what they were doing

“We had Dean from Sydney EV Chargers come and install a charging station at our location. They were friendly, professional and they knew what they were doing, even if the product was newly released.”

Like all appliances, EV chargers go through daily wear and tear. Keeping that in mind, we asked locals for their recommendations on an installer that provides maintenance services as well, and EVSE was by far the most frequent name.

It wasn’t hard to see why when we got to reach out and chat about their services. They offered a wide range of EV charging solutions for public and private buildings, with some services to help charge entire fleets of EVs as well.

We got this information quickly after we anonymously inquired, with the team helpfully walking us through their process and the coverage of their services.

Many customers also praised the streamlined booking process. Since getting a whole EV charging station set up at any building can be a long process with a whole lot of paperwork, quick processing like this is a plus in our book.

Their follow-up services, like regular maintenance on the chargers, are generally reliable as well. Customers shared that the team deployed quickly to resolve any issues.

That said, some customers reported delays in their installations due to issues with the delivery of parts needed to complete them. We’d advise regularly following up with the team to track orders.

Pros

  • Reliable follow-up services
  • Proactive and responsive communication
  • Easy ordering and booking process

Cons

  • Deliveries tend to get delayed

With EVs becoming a more common mode of transport around Sydney, you might have noticed more businesses installing EV chargers on-site. Intrigued, we asked business owners for recommendations, and many pointed us to Scott Electrics.

Their range of electrical services was almost staggering, covering everything from data cabling to EV chargers. We even noticed their emergency electrical services for addressing sudden charger failures, which can be handy during blackouts.

Since the company became popular among business owners, it was no surprise that its installation and maintenance services for commercial buildings were a highlight. Customers mentioned using Australian-standard chargers to fit various EV brands.

Customers we spoke with also praised the team’s timeliness. The team reportedly moved quickly to schedule and arrive at the installation sites, finishing within the allotted time with little fuss.

Follow-up services also garnered some pretty good feedback. The team reportedly dispatched quickly to customers who requested maintenance on their chargers or to rectify any issues that cropped up after installation.

We do have to note that the prices for their products and services were pretty high, though, even compared to other EV charger suppliers.

Pros

  • Reliable services for commercial buildings
  • Quick and timely installations
  • Good maintenance services

Cons

  • Higher costs for products and services

“Very happy to recommend Scott Electrics – we had a fairly extensive set of electrical works that needed to be completed in our office building and they rose to the occasion, working around the attendance of relevant employees on our side.”

Any EV owner knows that getting an EV charger installed can be a pretty intimidating task, especially with the fees involved. Luckily, when looking for budget-friendly options around Sydney, McIntosh Electrical came to our radar.

Their EV charging options were quite varied, servicing both residential and commercial buildings. In addition, they had quite a few chargers compatible with multiple EV brands, including Honda, Mazda, and even Volvo.

The first thing we immediately noticed was the pricing. After chatting a bit with both customers and staff, we got a sense of the price tags for their products and services, and we found them pretty reasonable given the work involved.

We also love how proactive McIntosh’s communication is. Customers shared that the team goes out of its way to provide regular updates on the installation’s progress.

This also helped customers track how the service was going, and most mentioned the staff’s attention to detail during the service. The team identified potential complications on project sites, helping rectify them to safely install the EV charger.

On the flip side, some customers mentioned that this resulted in longer service and installation times.

Pros

  • Good attention to detail during installation
  • Reasonable costs for services
  • Proactive communication during service

Cons

  • Longer service times
