5 Best Badminton Coaches in Sydney for All Skill Levels
My friend went for a badminton coaching last weekend. It’s a program she saw randomly and decided to try. Turns out, the program feel overly intense for her level, leaving her frustrated instead of motivated.
So this week, I decided to join her. But this time, we started from scratch in finding a new coach and program.
As beginners, we know what we’re looking for, so we asked around and muscled our way online to filter the best badminton coaches in Sydney.
But take note, we didn’t just focus on beginners; we made sure to include providers that cater to competitive ones, too. Check out who made it to our list.
How much does badminton coaching in Sydney cost?
Badminton coaching in Sydney may range fro $50 to $100+ per hour for a private lesson. Group classes are cheaper, typically at $15 to $50 per class. The coach’s expertise, location, and term structure affect the price.
1. The Badminton Club

Address: Parking on, 276 Kurrajong Rd, Kookaburra Rd N, Prestons
Contact Details: +61300754078
Operating Hours: Monday – Sunday: 6:00 AM – 12:00 AM
One thing we like about The Badminton Club is how accessible and beginner-friendly their programs are.
They have plenty of sessions throughout the week, making it easy for busy people to fit in. Also, this flexibility makes it easy for newbies to just turn up without feeling out of place.
We also appreciate their affordable pricing, which adds to that easy entry feel, especially for families with multiple members who want to enrol.
Another thing worth highlighting is that they mix in social-style coaching, giving players an environment where it’s more relaxed rather than a competition-focused vibe. No pressure, and just a place where you can build basic skills.
Their instructors are also friendly and welcoming, with students noting that they didn’t have a hard time settling in.
Facilities are great, too. Their courts have good lighting and ventilation.
The downside is pretty clear, though – it’s not for advanced players. They cater to all skill levels, but we think they lack a deeper or more structured pathway to push serious players.
Convenient location
“The Badminton Club – Prestons is conveniently located in South Western Sydney, within 10 to 20 mins of Cabramatta, Liverpool, Casula, Austral, Macquarie Fields, Oran Park, Denham Court, Edmonson Park, Ingleburn, Minto & Campbelltown.
The venue has quality amenities, vending machines for drinks and Shuttlecocks as well as ample parking. Around the clock CCTV cameras provide a safe and fun environment for all to enjoy!
Coaching is also available, for adults and kids. Rate is about $70/hour for one to one coaching.
Easy to park. Plenty of spaces.
100% self-service.
Highly recommended to all.”

Great coach
“I’ve been playing with the Tuesday social sessions that run from 8pm to 10pm for almost a year now. I came off a 10 year hiatus from badminton and despite my rust, the group has been welcoming, encouraging and has reinvigorated my love of the game. Deepak, the facilitator, coached me on adjustments to my technique and grip to help avoid some of the injuries that forced me to take such a long break. He’s also been generous in recommendations for gear so I can get the most out of my game. A great group of people that make it worthwhile getting to the courts each week.”

2. Roketto Badminton

Contact Details: +61287056478
Operating Hours:

Roketto Badminton stood out for its structured system that prepares players gradually from the basics all the way to competition-ready training.
Their program follows a clear player pathway, meaning your training won’t be just about completing weekly sessions. It’s more about long-term progression, which benefits those who want to seriously play.
We’re also impressed that their coaching team brings international experience. That shows in how organised and disciplined their sessions are.
In fact, players mentioned that everything in their training feels more intentional, focusing on technique and consistency. Plus, there’s a strong sense of progression, making you feel you’re building on skill over time.
Their facilities are also worth praise. We can say that the quality matches a high-performance direction, providing players with proper ground to train seriously and with fewer distractions.
Their centre is also easy to access and near colleges, making it easy for students or competitive players to drop by.
The only thing to take note of is that Roketto Badminton has premium pricing, which is expected given the level of coaching involved.
Best place to stay
“Best place to play + enjoy badminton & to receive training. Spacious open space, highest quality badminton courts & plenty of parking in its car park (if you arrive 15 mins earlier or come 10 mins later), also park both side of the street in front Roketto. Just enquire about social level or competition level badminton coaching at the reception counter. Sylvinna K. at Roketto coached us & our games became more efficient & effective to compete. Thank you Team Roketto.”

3. Pro1 Badminton Centre

Address: 1/361 Milperra Rd, Bankstown Aerodrome
Contact Details: +61406725935
Operating Hours: Monday – Sunday: 6:00 AM – 11:00 PM
Pro1 Badminton Centre landed on our radar due to its premium courts with Yonex mats approved by the Badminton World Federation.
We believe that having a proper quality training surface and decent badminton mats can make a difference in the player’s learning experience.
Apart from that, the centre offers a good mix of 1-on-1 coaching and group programs. This is a big plus for us because it gives players flexibility depending on the level of personal attention they need.
We also noticed that they handle different age groups. They have kids’ academy and adult programs, making it a perfect setup for families.
When it comes to their coaching quality, we find it non-intimidating yet strong. They have experienced coaches paired with a supportive team who are hands-on in helping players settle in.
Their location also adds convenience, ideal and a big plus for those looking to train regularly.
However, the communication of this centre feels a bit too sales-driven at times. There are also instances where they keep on sending salesy emails to players, slightly taking away from the authenticity of the experience.
Friendly coaches
“I came to Pro1 Badminton Centre to try badminton, but what I found was so much more – a welcoming community and a family of players who supported me every step of the way. The courts are top-notch, the atmosphere is energetic, and the staff and coaches are incredibly friendly and encouraging. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned player, Pro1 feels like home.
Highly recommend it to anyone looking for more than just a place to play – it’s a place to belong!”

4. Alpha Badminton Centre

Address: 46 Egerton St, Silverwater
Contact Details: +61475698888
Operating Hours:
- Monday – Friday: 9:00 AM – 11:00 PM
- Saturday: 7:00 AM – 11:00 PM
- Sunday: 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM
We see Alpha Badminton Centre’s coaching as one of the consistently active and accessible providers. This is because of their frequent coaching sessions across multiple venues.
They don’t limit players to strict schedules and locations, making it easier for students to fit training into their routines.
From what we observed, the centre is also quite flexible in its offerings. They’re not just into formal coaching, as they also offer social play and regular events. This is a big plus, giving players more ways to stay active.
Another good thing about Alpha Badminton Centre? They have long operating hours. So if you’re planning an evening or off-peak training, they’re a great fit.
The rates are also generally reasonable, which helps it stay accessible to a huge range of players.
We also find their support for all skill levels to be a strong point. Their coaches are skilled enough to handle beginners and more experienced players.
Just one big downside is that they lack a bit on their training grounds. The facilities and courts are a bit worn out compared to other centres.
Friendly and knowledgeable
“The badminton centre is truly a standout facility, offering a top-notch experience for players of all levels. With its spacious courts, high-quality equipment, and well-maintained environment, it’s clear that the centre prioritizes both comfort and performance. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, always making sure that everyone feels welcome and supported. Whether you’re looking for a casual game or serious practice, the atmosphere here is perfect for honing your skills and enjoying the sport to its fullest. It’s a great place to connect with other enthusiasts and make the most of your badminton experience.”
-Ms. Jie Ying Chan, Google Review
Well-organised centre
“I’ve been playing at this badminton centre for a while now, and it’s by far the best setup among all the Alpha Badminton Centres. It has more courts, a better and more spacious layout, and everything feels really well-organised. One of the biggest advantages is the ample parking available – it makes coming here so much more convenient. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to play badminton!”

5. KBC Badminton Pty Ltd

Address: Unit7/175-179 James Ruse Dr, Camellia
Contact Details:
Operating Hours:
- Monday – Friday: 10:00 AM – 11:00 PM
- Saturday: 7:00 AM – 11:00 PM
- Sunday: 8:00 AM – 11:00 PM
Many players pointed us to KBC Badminton after asking for an affordable coaching setup.
Upon checking, their pricing structure is indeed very affordable. Prices start at $18 for members and $22 for non-members. Meanwhile, their membership offers discounted sessions
We think it’s ideal for casual players, making it easy to join without overthinking cost or commitment.
Apart from that, they offer regular weekly sessions with varying time slots. That means there’s so much flexibility to fit coaching into your schedule.
We also appreciate the relaxed environment they offer. It’s giving more of a community-driven vibe rather than a very formal coaching. Many shared that meeting other players and having regular games became the highlights of their training.
With that setup, it’s also easy to join and stay active without too much pressure.
However, this easy setup isn’t really designed for those who need structured improvement. This is because there’s little focus on advanced coaching pathways.
Great facility
“Pretty nice space, went with one friend as beginners and didn’t have an issue. Booking site isn’t very mobile friendly, but works fine on desktop and entrance on maps is a little off from the actual entrance but the facilities itself was good”
-Mr. Jae Dran, Google Review
Modern facility
“Overall, NBC NSW badminton courts are a solid choice for both casual play and social engagement in badminton, offering modern facilities dedicated to the sport along with a welcoming community atmosphere“
