The 5 Best Fertility Clinics in Sydney That Make Parenthood Dreams Possible

Success Rates: We selected clinics based on their independently reported outcomes, like live birth and in vitro fertilisation (IVF) success rates. Those with high success rates, especially among women over 35, stood out.

Range of Treatments and Services: We prefer clinics with a comprehensive range of fertility options. This includes egg and sperm freezing, genetic testing, and donor and embryo programs, among others.

Pricing: We also evaluated each clinic’s transparency and affordability. Clinics with clear pricing, Medicare rebates availability, and flexible payment plans ranked higher.

Patient Support: We considered patient feedback and favoured clinics with responsive service, an easy scheduling process, and empathetic staff. Since fertility journeys can be emotional, those that prioritise patient support earned our favour.

In vitro fertilisation (IVF) has helped many families around the world grow. In fact, a study in the journal Fertility and Sterility estimates that between 10 and 13 million babies were born via IVF in the first 40 years.

Australia played a significant role in its development, establishing one of the first registries to track outcomes and improve care. Today, the country continues to lead in fertility research, making IVF a viable option for families in Sydney.

But cutting-edge science is only part of the equation. How you’re supported throughout the journey matters just as much as success rates.

To help you make an informed decision, our team evaluated the best fertility clinics in Sydney. The clinics below came out on top after we considered cost transparency, success rates, and patient care.

How much does a fertility clinic in Sydney charge?

A fertility clinic in Sydney may charge from $1,000 to $15,000, depending on the treatment. Initial consultation may start at $200, Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET) may range between $700 an $3,000, and egg freezing is at $4,000 to $5,500.

If you’re looking for a clinic specialised in IVF or intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), The Fertility Centre is a solid choice. They have a streamlined protocol, staff, and processes for IVF.

The results are impressive. Their NSW clinics recorded a 35.4% clinical pregnancy rate per individual attempt for patients younger than 35 and 37% for patients aged 35 to 38.

Their whole team is also worth the compliment. They’re accommodating and make you feel comfortable inside their clinic. They’re all friendly and warm, from the doctors and nurses to the receptionists.

Another thing we like about this clinic is that they made their IVF and ICSI treatment more accessible. Rates are very reasonable, with some patients even saying they found the lowest rates here.

The only downside is that they only cater to IVF and ICSI cases. If you’re looking for egg freezing or genetic testing, you have to look elsewhere.

Pros

  • Part of a reputable fertility service provider
  • Affordable and accessible IVF/ICSI treatment
  • With personalised patient support
  • Free initial nurse consultation
  • Favourable success rates
  • Great communication

Cons

  • Focused on IVF/ICSI cases only
  • Far from the city centre

Best service

“I have been a patient since pre-covid on and off because my husband got sick for quite some time and honestly they are the best. Low cost doesn’t mean bad service. I have positive experience from all the receptionist, nurses and doctors who looked after me during my cycles. Renata, Jessica, Sophie (love you Soph!) and Dr Thilee, thank you all so very much! I am now 13 weeks pregnant and can’t wait to visit you all with the baby”

-Ms. Amelie Adrian, Google Review

Empathetic nurses

“Great at communicating especially when you call to speak to the nurses or Dr. A big mention to Sophie the receptionist she was very empathetic and caring when i was communicating with her, made the ivf experience positive regardless of the outcome.”

Dr Antony Lighten offers comprehensive fertility care in Sydney. His services include fertility consultation, ovulation treatment, and IVF, to name a few.

Plus, we’re surprised that you can also get genetic testing (PGT-A) here, which isn’t available at other clinics.

Apart from that, it’s good to know that they also cater to male fertility assessments. This makes them a solid choice for couples who prefer a more comprehensive and inclusive fertility care.

Patients we spoke with especially appreciated the clinic’s early pregnancy management. Dr. Antony helps ensure patients, especially those who previously suffered miscarriage, are medically and psychologically supported.

The laboratory is well-equipped too. Their Minerva’s Fertility laboratory has AI-assisted embryo selection, time-lapse embryo culture, and strict laboratory systems.

That’s why their success rate is high. They recorded a 60% rate of pregnancies per individual treatment attempt for patients younger than 35, and 45% for patients aged 35 ot 38.

Just a few notes, though. They don’t offer donor or surrogacy options, so this may not be suitable if those treatments are part of your fertility plan.

Pros

  • Comprehensive range of fertility services
  • Uses advanced technologies
  • Experienced specialist
  • Has lifestyle support and male fertility assessment
  • Offers early pregnancy care
  • Provides free estimates
  • Informative doctor
  • Welcoming clinic

Cons

AEVAFEM Clinic Norwest stood out to us because of its diverse offerings that go beyond just basic IVF services. From ovulation induction to elective egg freezing, they have it here.

Most of their patients also had successful egg collection and embryo transfer in this clinic. It’s also one of the few clinics in Sydney that offers donor eggs and donor sperm.

Another big thing for us? Their specialist, Dr. Warren Chan, is a holder of the Certificate of Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility (CREI). This certification is Australia’s highest recognised qualification for fertility specialists.

This gives us the confidence that every patient is guided by a highly trained expert, especially for more complex fertility cases.

We also appreciate Dr. Chan’s positivity and genuine care for his patients. Many shared that not only did he greatly assist them on the procedure, but also took his time to visit them in the hospital afterwards.

However, we learned that the clinic doesn’t have its own IVF lab. Instead, they collaborate with Monash IVF and Westmead Fertility Centre for their IVF procedures.

Pros

  • Wide range of fertility services
  • Has donor eggs and donor sperm services
  • Highly qualified specialist team
  • Personalised approach
  • Skilled surgeon
  • Responsive doctor

Cons

  • Doesn’t have its own IVF lab

Skilled specialist

“I was referred to Prof Warren Chan based on raving recommendations and how true that was.  He is a thorough, skilled surgeon who helped us with a successful first (fresh) and second (frozen) transfer both from the only IVF cycle I’ve done – an IVF dream. THANK YOU professor Chan for completing our family. A thank you card is coming your way once I get a nice photo of the kids together”

-Mr. J Moo, Google Review

Exceptional care

“Apart from his wide expertise in this medical field, what truly sets Dr. Chan apart is his genuine concern for his patients’ well-being. Not only did he greatly assist me with a complex medical matter through surgery, but also took the time to visit me in the hospital afterward to ensure my recovery was going smoothly. His dedication to his patients is truly commendable, and I cannot recommend his services enough. Thank you, Dr. Chan, for your exceptional care and compassion.”

Dr. Charley Zheng is worth considering if your priority is continuity of care, and you don’t want to hop on a fertility clinic and an obstetrician and gynaecologist afterwards.

Dr. Zheng is a fertility specialist, obstetrician, and OB-GYN. He understands both fertility and women’s health factors, which is helpful when creating treatment plans.

On top of that, his services are extensive, ranging from personalised fertility treatment planning to artificial insemination. He has services perfect for patients who are both starting out and those who need more advanced care.

Apart from Dr Zheng’s qualifications and services, it’s his honesty and compassionate attitude that we’re looking for in a fertility specialist.

Many of his patients come to him after experiencing a miscarriage. Instead of giving false reassurance, he takes the time to present facts, risks, and realistic outcomes.

That said, Dr Zheng’s clinic isn’t a standalone IVF centre. Yes, you can have fertility assessments and planning here, but the actual IVF lab work might be conducted in their partner facilities.

Pros

  • Led by an experienced fertility specialist and OB-GYN
  • Offers a range of fertility services and treatments
  • Great continuity of care
  • Supportive doctor
  • With fertility preservation options
  • Comfortable clinic

Cons

  • Not a dedicated IVF clinic

Kind and professional team

“Dr Charley Zheng is such a kind and professional doctor. He is knowledgeable, gentle yet highly skilled, and he genuinely thinks about what’s best for the person he is caring for. His care feels genuine and never excessive. I felt very comfortable, confident, and so well looked after. I’m truly grateful to be under his care.”

-Ms. Mijia Yao, Google Review

Very caring and patient

“This is a long overdue review as bub is now 16months old but better late than never 😊My husband and I chose dr Charley after looking at the glowing Google reviews and it was the best decision. He’s very caring, patient and thorough in explaining and addressing any of our concerns/ questions. Thanks to dr Charley and the team- my baby had to be delivered early due to health condition and from what was planned to be a vaginal delivery turns into an elective emergency c-section but I felt comfortable and safe in his and the team’s care. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!”

The Acupuncture Pregnancy Clinic in Westmead combines traditional Chinese herbal medicine, lifestyle advice, and other modalities to address reproductive and hormonal symptoms.

They’re a great choice if you’re looking for other ways to support your IVF or fertility treatment.

We find their fertility-related acupuncture service very helpful. Patients shared that the team provided targeted support at each stage, from stimulation and egg collection to embryo transfer.

Even during the two-week wait, patients said that the clinic offered support to lessen the pressure and tension of their fertility journey.

We also appreciate that their clinic is close to major IVF providers, such as Monash IVF and Westmead Fertility Centre. This makes it easier to coordinate treatment schedules without too much hassle.

Beyond their IVF support, we think this clinic is ideal for those seeking emotional support during their challenging fertility journey.

Just note that their acupuncture doesn’t replace medical fertility treatments. Instead, they exist to support patients in reducing stress and regulating their overall well-being during their IVF process.

Pros

  • Specialised in fertility and IVF support
  • Uses traditional Chinese herbal medicine
  • Located near major IVF providers
  • Offers related supportive services
  • Inclusive care
  • Accommodating team

Cons

  • Supportive role only
  • Multiple sessions required

Amazing work

“I have been visiting the clinic for almost 18 months now. I credit a huge part of my healthy pregnancy and birth to the amazing work that Donna and her team perform. It has addressed my health issues and has just been safe place to de-stress. The ladies have been key to my postpartum journey too. The clinic also provides a good package discount. I could not recommend this clinic enough. Book your first appointment and don’t look back.”

-Ms. Tijana Novkovic, Google Review

Supportive team

“I had treatments for about 9-12 months and had a 10/10 experience. I was supported throughout the ivf journey emotionally and with the actual treatment sessions. I couldn’t be more grateful for each of the team! The team were skilled, sensitive to the situation of multiple rounds of ivf and always had an encouraging, positive perspective on things.”
