1. Ikigai Wellness

Address: Unit 6/1 Ridge Street North Sydney 2060
Contact Details: 02 8959 9819; [email protected]
Operating Hours:
- Monday: Closed
- Tuesday – Wednesday: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Thursday: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM
- Friday: Closed
- Saturday: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Ikigai Wellness reveals a practice rooted in emotional awareness and somatic healing rather than purely fitness-focused yoga. Their philosophy centers on “feel to heal,” encouraging reconnection with the body and nervous system as the foundation of overall well-being.
At Ikigai Wellness Studio, the focus goes beyond movement, with an emphasis on emotional processing, nervous system regulation, fascia release, and deep, embodied healing. Founded by Cathy Tescher, creator of Fascia Flow Fusion, the studio works across physical, emotional, energetic, and nervous system layers to help release stored tension and support a sense of safety within the body.
Their yoga studio services reflect this broader mission, integrating mindfulness and emotional awareness into traditional practice. Alongside this, they also offer Hatha and Vinyasa yoga classes for both adults and children, supporting strength, flexibility, balance, and inner calm within a more familiar structure.
What stands out is how yoga is complemented by other modalities such as Fascia Flow Fusion and 9D Breathwork. These sessions incorporate sound, frequency, and guided breathing to support deeper states of release, rewiring, and transformation, positioning yoga as part of a wider healing ecosystem rather than a standalone class.
The presence of experienced practitioners like Cathy Tescher adds depth to the overall experience. Her background in emotional processing and somatic therapies suggests sessions may include body awareness, subtle energy work, and intentional guidance beyond standard instruction.
However, this approach may not appeal to everyone, particularly those seeking a more traditional or fitness-driven yoga experience. While standard Hatha and Vinyasa classes are available, the studio’s core focus leans toward deeper inner work and emotional release.
Additionally, the strong emphasis on personal growth and healing makes the experience more introspective than social or recreational. This can be highly beneficial for individuals seeking an inside-out approach, especially those interested in synchronizing breath and movement while building resilience mentally, physically, and energetically.
Overall, Ikigai Wellness positions its yoga services as a deeper journey toward balance, emotional release, and self-awareness—best suited for those open to holistic healing rather than purely physical outcomes.
Safe experience and their energy is so calm and accepting.
“Everyone should experience 9D breathwork to release and heal. Cathy and Cam at Ikigai create a beautiful, safe experience and their energy is so calm and accepting. I’ve also tried the fascia flow, and I look forward to doing more, including trying Cathy’s signature facials with her wonderful healing hands 🙌🏼 Highly recommend 🙏🪷 …”

Website
Yoga Loft Sydney is a boutique yoga studio in Surry Hills that’s perfect for those looking for a more personalised yoga session. Class sizes are smaller, so each student receives enough individual attention from instructors.
Another plus? They have multiple yoga instructors to choose from, so you have the chance to pick a specific teacher whose style and pacing match yours. More teachers mean more availability as well.
Many beginners we spoke with shared that their instructors provided insightful explanations and helpful corrections that contributed to their steady progress.
On top of that, it’s reassuring that they only offer yoga. The studio doesn’t feel crowded or disorganized, unlike other studios that offer Pilates and other classes.
Rates are also affordable and beginner-friendly.
The only slight downside? They have very strict class policies, including a non-refundable intro pass and class passes. Plus, they charge students for last-minute class cancellations.
Excellent Vinyasa class
“Such a beautiful space and an excellent, challenging but very informative and helpful class with Vicky. She has a really lovely balance of explanation and flow, and a really insightful way of explaining cues. An excellent vinyasa class and highly recommend if you’re in Sydney.”

Andreina creates such a calm vibe for everyone
“The weekly mums group is one of the best parts of my week — super relaxed with tea, bikkies, and great company. The space is lovely and Andreina creates such a calm vibe for everyone. The mums and bubs yoga is awesome too — perfect if you’re easing back into exercise. Annie’s great at showing moves you can do with your baby.”

4. Humming Puppy Yoga Sydney

Address: Levels 1 & 2/146 Abercrombie St, Redfern
Contact Details: +61438734565
Operating Hours:
- Monday – Friday: 5:30 AM – 8:30 PM
- Saturday: 6:30 AM – 5:30 PM
- Sunday: 7:30 AM – 7:30 PM
Humming Puppy intrigued us with its signature classes build around the stuido’s curated “Hum”. It’s a soundscape that you can’t just find in other studios.
Throughout your yoga sessions, they’ll play a mix of tones and vibrations to help you focus and relax. Students said the sessions became meditative and helped them sync their breath with the sound.
After the session, they have a sound bath, which we also find very unique. Students also loved it, saying that it was quite an experience.
We also appreciate the small, thoughtful touches. Towels and hot tea are provided, which really help ease the transition back into the day.
The studio itself reinformces that sense of calm. It’s clean, beautifully designed, and equipped with well-maintained facilities that make you want to return.
It’s also convenient that you can book and track your classes in the studio’s mobile app.
We’re just sad at the fact that their class packs have expiration dates. For those with unpredictable schedules, this can mean losing prepaid classes if life gets in the way.
Beautiful studio
“Wow this yoga studio is incredible. I tried the yoga foundations class which made my body feel better after. It ended with a sound bath which was quite an experience. The music throughout the session sounded like vibrations. The studio is so beautiful. They provide towels, hot tea and the bathroom is clean.
The studio was a bit hard to find. The door that leads to the studio’s not quite obvious and sprayed with graffiti but it looks like a different world inside.”

Modern studio
“Everything about this yoga studio feels intentionally calming. The bathrooms, waiting area and yoga space is beautiful and clean.
The sound system is top quality, and it adds to the grounding atmosphere. The yoga teacher in my class was very calming to listen to and took us through a lovely flow.
Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a modern space to practice yoga.”

- Friday: 6:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- Saturday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Sunday: 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Bikram Yoga Darlinghurst is one of the best studios for hot yoga in Sydney. They specialise in original Bikram yoga, which isn’t something you’ll find at every yoga studio, so we’re glad to have them on the list.
The studio is a great fit for those who enjoys a physically demanding, sweat-dripping practice that combines flexibility and strength. Many of their regulars that we spoked with come specifically to detox and improve their circulation.
Classes follow the traditional Brikam format: 26 Hatha yoga postures, Pranayama breathing exercises, and a room heated to around 40°C.
We also appreciate the variety of instructors. They have both male and female teachers, so students can choose classes that best suits their pace and comfort level.
Location-wise, the studio is very convenient. The space itself strikes a nice balance between energetic and calming. The lighting and overall design help soften the intensity of the heat, making the experience feel more focused.
That said, their studio is a bit small compared to the others. Classes can host up to 22 yogis, which may feel a bit crowded for those who prefer a more personalised instruction or extra space to move.
Great environment
“After a few years of absence I finally made it back to Bikram Yoga Darlinghurst, just in time for the opening of the new space. Love the energy in this place ! Marty & Katie, all teachers and my fellow students are great. Loving the benefits that come with each class.
Namaste.”
-Mr. Stefan Engl, Google Review
Helpful teachers
“Bikram Darlo is a special community! The new studio is beautiful with infrared heating. You can tell Marty and Katie put in a lot of work to create this new yoga hub on Oxford st. Showers are available and all the teachers are very helpful and experienced, thanks for a great class.”

Zenly is one of the most inclusive yoga studios in Sydney, thanks to its strong and intentional focus on neurodiversity.
They purposely created and designed their studio and classes to be inclusive and supportive of people with ADHD, autism spectrum conditions, and sensory processing differences.
To minimalism overstimulation, the space uses low, adjustable lighting and keeps background noise to a minimum. Plus, there are options for mats or props to suit students’ sensory needs.
That same care extends to the classes themselves. Their instructors are trained to adapt cues, demonstrations, and modifications for those students with neurodivergent needs.
They don’t force their students to move. Instead, they encourage participation as much or as little as you feel. Students also noted that their instructors seamlessly combine movement and rest.
Aside from that, we appreciate that they offer the first class for free. This gives you a chance to see if the environment, instructors, and style are for you before you commit.
That said, the studio is fairly small. There are also limited time slots, which can make it tricky to fit classes into a busy schedule.
Lovely space
“Absolutely love this place, as soon as you step in, you feel hugged by the space. I really appreciate the inclusivity and consideration from the instructors, and overall focus on wellbeing and checking in on how YOU feel. There is no expectation , and no pressure to go any particular pace. I think I’ve found my regular yoga studio:)”
-Ms. Miranda Whitney, Google Review
Welcoming place
“They were really really nice! And welcoming. The first class is free. Unfortunately I’m only in sydney for a few days, but if I’m ever here again I’ll definitely come back. Did a hatha-vinyasa class that was really good and varied”
