The 5 Best Entertainers in Sydney Who Know How to Keep the Party Going

  • Variety of Entertainment Options: We checked the range of entertainment options they can offer. Can they only do one act, or can they mix things up like comedy or themed performances?
  • Stage Presence: Do they look confident and engage people? We looked for entertainers who hold attention well once they’re in front of a crowd.
  • Professionalism: We chose those who are reliable and easy to deal with. Do they reply on time, show up prepared, and stick to agreements?
  • Pricing: We compared what’s actually included, like the length of performance, equipment, travel, etc. Are their rates reasonable for what they can provide?

Without entertainers at a party, it will be just a gathering. Maybe there’s some food or some music, but is that always enough to keep people until the end?

These are factors to consider when hosting a party. The right entertainer doesn’t just fill time. They bring energy, keep guests engaged, and create memories people talk about long after the event ends.

To make it easier for you, we’ve looked for the best entertainers in Sydney. These are the ones who know how to navigate any party setting!

How much does it cost to hire an entertainer in Sydney?

Hiring an entertainer in Sydney typically costs around $200–$500 per hour for a basic package for smaller events. Mid-range options like DJs or themed entertainers usually land around $500–$1,500 per event. High-end acts can go $1,500+.

Fly By Fun understands one important truth about kids’ parties: if children get bored, the whole room feels it. That’s why we’re impressed that they know how to keep momentum high from start to finish.

They don’t seem to rely on one act carrying the entire party. Instead, they rotate through magic, games, face painting, balloon twisting and more. There’s rarely dead air.

That variety is probably their biggest strength. When you’ve got younger children who have short attention spans as an audience, that matters a lot.

From what we’ve heard, when the entertaineers notice a drop in energy, they quickly pivot into another activity.

There’s also the option to choose entertainers to dress up as specific characters. Parents mentioned they really commit to the role and connects well with everyone.

Where they do seem weaker is communication style before the booking. Some people described them as overly aggressive when they follow-up, with multiple calls, emails, and texts.

Pros

  • Wide variety of entertainment
  • Themed party appeal
  • Great at engagement
  • In-character entertainers
  • Well-organised

Cons

  • A little pushy during bookings

Both kids and adults loved them

“We hired Batman and Elsa for our Family and Friends Day at the office, and they were absolutely fantastic! Both kids and adults loved them. They brought great energy, interacted with everyone, and made the day extra special. Highly recommend!”

When we asked locals about their favourite entertainers in Sydney, a certain magician was mentioned a lot: Magic Mike.

Besides his wit and charm, his versatility makes him appealing. He’s not locked into one format. If you need close-up roaming magic during drinks receptions, he’s strong there.

Guests are pulled into the experience, following him around, laughing, and trying to figure out his tricks. We find that important because it means he’s creating shared moments rather than just isolated performances.

He can also perform for a larger group with a stage show. The option to use cameras and projection screens wouldn’t be a bother to him. Some performers disappear in a ballroom. Magic Mike appears to know how to command one.

Most of the feedback we’ve heard is positive, signalling his expertise. It’s understandable why he has a higher rate, but overall, we think it’s worth it.

Pros

  • Strong crowd engagement
  • Excellent roaming magic
  • Great stage presence
  • Professional
  • Great with large and small settings

Cons

  • Higher pricing

Mike was confident from the moment he arrived

“I hired Magic Mike as a surprise for my husband at his 40th birthday party and boy did Mike deliver. We all absolutely loved it! Mike was confident from the moment he arrived, comfortably engaging every single one of our guests (and the bartenders too!) for impressive close-up tricks plus an “all-in” show at the end. He genuinely amazed all of us and left even our most skeptical friend scratching his head. A top experience!”

He’s guaranteed to impress

“We had Magic Mike perform at our staff Christmas party, and he was absolutely incredible. For two hours he roamed the venue performing jaw-dropping magic tricks that left everyone amazed. His energy, professionalism, and ability to engage with every group made the experience feel personal and unforgettable. Mike’s close-up magic was flawless, and he brought an exciting, fun atmosphere that truly elevated our event. We would highly recommend Magic Mike for any occasion, corporate events, private parties, or special celebrations. He’s guaranteed to impress.”

Plenty of entertainers can dress as a princess or superhero, but StarDust Kids seems to go further. The team ties games, activities, and storytelling back into the chosen character or universe.

That matters more than parents sometimes realise. Kids notice when something feels authentic. When the games and energy all match the theme, it becomes memorable.

We were also impressed with how updated their character lineup is. Many children’s entertainers are still relying heavily on the same legacy favourites like Elsa or Superman. StarDust seems quicker to adapt to trends.

Newer character requests like Rumi from K-pop Demon Hunters are already in rotation.

Their package range is another plus. They’re all tailored with options for toddlers, preschoolers, and even themes.

However, we’ve heard that they can be a little aggressive when following up.

Pros

  • Strong themed immersion
  • Very engaging
  • Knows how to handle large groups
  • Wide variety of packages
  • Updated character choices

Cons

  • A little pushy during bookings

He was great with a large group of kids

“Simon was fantastic. My son and his friends had a wonderful time at his dinosaur party. Many of the parents commented on how funny and engaging he was. He was great with a large group of kids and we would highly recommend him. Thank you for making my son’s 5th (and first ever) party so memorable.”

If you want to turn an ordinary gathering into something louder and sharper, Untamed Entertainment is worth calling! They have a flamboyant aesthetic, which can turn simple weddings and corporate functions closer to a live production.

They have a broad talent roster. Drag performers, burlesque, singers, and cultural performers are all available here. This is great news for clients who want one supplier coordinating multiple moving parts.

They’re great at navigating the event atmosphere too. Clients described high energy and a fun experience during their events.

It seems like they’ve also mastered the art of pacing and balance. Even when they always humour their audience, they still know how to be genuine during heartfelt moments.

Just remember that they’re on the higher end of the market. Considering their production value and talents, it’s worth it, though.

Pros

  • Strong entertainment variety
  • Immersive
  • Professional coordination
  • Great performer quality and personality
  • Good at tailoring to a vision
  • Ideal for high-impact events

Cons

  • Higher pricing

Highly professional and full of energy

“We partnered with Untamed Entertainment for our corporate event, and they were fantastic—highly professional and full of energy. The team had us dancing and having a blast to the beats of Sexy Galexy!”

“We book the hilarious Carmen Geddit for our Mother’s Day Bingo Fundraiser event in May 2025 and could not have been happier with her opening performance and how she lead the games!! She was perfect for our diverse crowd, adding a burst of glamour, humour and a whole lot of energy to our evening! A happy crowd equals a successful fundraiser! Thank you so much Carmen, Tarryn and the Untamed team for an unforgettable night!”

Juliansbullmagic is great with interactive sleight-of-hand. Clients were mesmerised and engaged throughout his shows.

It seems like he performs best when people are close enough to feel part of the magic rather than simply watching from a distance.

We were impressed with his versatility as well. Julian is equally comfortable entertaining children at birthday parties and older audiences in care settings, and even adults at weddings or corporate functions.

He once performed in an aged care facility, and it went well. Those environments can be difficult for entertainers sometimes, but Julian was patient and uplifting. He was even able to involve residents who don’t normally join activities.

That said, he may be less ideal in noisy or poorly controlled venues. One client mentioned that his voice is hard to hear over background noise.

Pros

  • Strong audience engagement
  • Works across different event types
  • Interactive close-up magic
  • Good emotional awareness
  • Maintains energy and pacing

Cons

  • Hard-to-hear voice in noisy environments

Amazing performance and amazing guy!

“We recently caught Julian doing a magic performance outside the sydney city circle fairy terminal where he showcased so many different tricks of his. He blew me and my girlfriends mind and we found it incredible what he was able to do. Thank you for blowing our minds, amazing performance and amazing guy! 10/10”

Outstanding sleight of hand

“Outstanding sleight of hand and dazzling tricks laced with excellent humor and impeccable comedic delivery! Adults and children alike had a great time interacting with many of the tricks too. Our team look forward to seeing more of Julian’s tricks in the future!”
