Sydney Landscaping has been active in the Sydney landscaping industry since 2015. They’re members of The Landscape Association in NSW and hold various other certifications and licenses as well.

They’ve received a Local Business Outstanding Award in 2024, and have completed over 200 projects.

When booking them, you can select a particular design style or theme for the landscaping work, for both aesthetic and practical purposes. Options include a native garden design using local plants, a Mediterranean theme, a focus on sustainability and recycled materials, and more.

The process begins by filling out a short form on the website, choosing a service, and getting a free quote. You’ll then get to meet the team of experts, who’ll give advice on the tasks you need done before they get to work.

While they provide a rough cost range on their website, they don’t provide a breakdown of pricing per service — you’ll need to contact them for details.

Pros

  • Strong business reputation and credentials
  • Residential and commercial landscaping
  • Different themes and styles available

Cons

  • No exact pricing on the website

NBG Landscapes is a fully insured, Sydney-based landscaping company that specialises in luxury garden design.

They work on residential outdoor areas, including patios, decks, and pool surroundings. Commercial projects are part of their portfolio as well.

During the 90-minute consultation and site visit, the NBG Landscapes team will examine all the necessary details of your location, such as architecture and soil quality.

Afterward, they’ll come up with a design plan and quote, get your input and approval, and then begin the construction phase.

For each project they undertake, the team provides clients with regular progress reports. If you have questions or concerns at any point during the process, you can always ask.

One thing we’re iffy about is that there’s no mention or estimate of pricing on their website. If you’d like a cost breakdown or at least an estimate, you’ll need to get in touch with the team.

Pros

  • Residential and commercial landscaping
  • Thorough consultation and planning phase
  • Regular progress reports
  • Long business hours

Cons

  • No price estimates on the website

We had a great experience with NBG

“The concept plans enabled us to visualise how the garden would look. They gave us lots of great ideas / suggestions and we were able to update and adjust in the design phase. The team worked hard, were easy to have on site and the works were done to a high standard.”

– Jon Griffiths, Google review

We are happy to highly recommend the NBG team

“We chose NBG based on the excellent job they did for a neighbour and for their competitive quote. The team started on time each day of the two week job, completed the build with an attention to detail and left the site clean and tidy. The new deck, small garden bed, privacy screen and paving have turned out even better than we expected.”

Dr. Garden has been landscaping residential and commercial properties since 1990. Their work ranges from private apartments to corporate office spaces, and even public areas like city parks.

They also perform lighting, gardening, and irrigation services, with several dedicated teams for these projects.

They can also install synthetic turf, as well as bamboo fencing and screening if these would be suitable for your home or business space. Fun touches like garden art and ornaments are available too.

Before beginning work, a consultant meets with you for a 60–90 minute onsite consultation, costing between $100–$200. They’ll take a look at what you have to work with, provide ideas and advice, and recommend useful products.

A week or two after this, you’ll receive a detailed quote for your project. This will include an itemised list of costs, which we appreciate – this is more detail than some other businesses provide.

Unfortunately, Dr. Garden is only open on weekdays, closing relatively early at 4:00 pm. You’ll need to schedule your landscaping work accordingly.

Pros

  • Large business skill set
  • Decades of landscaping experience
  • Itemised cost breakdowns

Cons

  • Closed on weekends
  • Consultations can get expensive

Bondi Landscapes is a landscaping and construction business that focuses on sprucing up residential spaces. They have the expertise and experience to turn your outdoor area into what is essentially a holiday retreat locale, should you so desire.

Bondi Landscapes lets you choose between several aesthetic themes such as a Mediterranean oasis, minimalist garden, or a pool-centred summer home. Or you can request something bespoke for your home.

The first step is a home visit and design consultation, guided by a seasoned and licensed landscape contractor. If you’re not sure where to begin, don’t worry; the team will guide you every step of the way.

After the consultation, you’ll receive a custom proposal.

Once you approve the proposal, the team will present more detailed ideas for each area to be landscaped. After your go-ahead, you’ll receive the final quote and the landscaping team will get to work.

Despite the positives, we did hear a few pieces of negative feedback when we interviewed past clients. Some mentioned unmet deliverables and scheduling delays, however, these didn’t seem like a recurring issue.

To avoid this, be sure to make your needs and timeline clear during the consultation.

Pros

  • Multiple design themes available
  • Long business hours
  • In-depth collaboration during design and execution

Cons

  • Inconsistent service

Punctual, tidy and didn’t disappoint

“Thank you to Bondi Landscapes for transforming our plain garden to an entertaining area! The difference of before and after are visible. It’s much brighter, functional and appealing now!”

– Nicole Lowrey, Google review
