The 5 Best Indoor Playgrounds in Sydney That Make Rainy Days Fun
I remember one time I was assigned to babysit my nephew on a rainy afternoon. Cabin fever was kicking in, and he was right on the brink of a full-blown tantrum. I had to think fast and find somewhere that could distract him long enough to avoid the meltdown.
Between half-heatedly considering parks with artificial grass and checking cinemas for kid-friendly screenings, I landed on the perfect solution: indoor playgrounds. I’d highly recommend it. The moment we got home, he went straight to sleep.
Luckily, Sydnet has plenty of great options. If you’re in the same situation, don’t worry. Our team set out to find the best indoor playgrounds in Sydney where kids can burn off energy, and where adults might actually enjoy themselves too.
How much does entrance to indoor playgrounds cost in Sydney?
Entrance to indoor playgrounds in Sydney usually costs AUD $12–$25 per child. Cheaper spots might sit closer to the low trends, while newer or more premium play centres can push toward $30, especially on weekends.
1. Ultimate Family Entertainment Centre

Address: 5/1B Redbank Rd, Northmead
Phone: +61 2 9683 4206
Business hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 10 AM – 6 PM
- Friday: 10 AM – 8 PM
- Saturday: 9 AM – 7 PM
- Sunday: 10 AM – 6 PM
Ultimate Family Entertainment Centre is more than just a padded jungle gym. It’s like an all-in-one family entertainment hub with its play areas, cafe, and even adult area.
The scale is their strength. There are multiple play zones, including two trampoline sections. There’s one with a foam pit plus a separate under-5s area.
The last one actually gets a lot of appreciation. Parents mentioned it reassured them to have a dedicated toddler zone where smaller kids aren’t getting accidentally bulldozed by older ones mid-bounce.
If kids are enjoying, parents get comfortable here. Here, there are couches and viewing areas where you can actually sit and supervise without feeling like you’re part of the obstacle course.
We also found it great that kids can have birthdays here. Having a host, flexible decorating options, and bundled food packages means fewer problems in logistics.
Now, the big downside we saw was the lack of temperature control. On warmer days, the space can get uncomfortably hot.
There are so many options and areas to play
“We had a kid’s birthday party here today and it was absolutely worth it! The party host was accommodating and did her job well. The cleanliness is what you can expect for a kid’s play area, but they kept it well maintained. There are so many options and areas to play. They also have couches for parents to sit on and supervise, which is rare for a place like this. The food packages allowed me to relax without running around trying to plan party platters. It was a good time and relatively low stress. We were able to decorate how we wanted to as well!”

Massive play area for young kids and older kids
“This play centre is the bang for buck model. Massive play area for young kids and older kids with 2 trampoline areas with a massive foam pit the kids will be jumping in all day! Plenty of seating space for the adults and they have a bumper car area as well. I love bringing my kid here and will be returning again.”

2. Planet Mino Kids Club

Address: 10 Smith St, Chatswood
Phone: +61 2 9417 5939
Business hours: Monday to Sunday: 9 AM – 5 PM
For those who want something more premium, Planet Mino Kids Club is worth a look. Our team was impressed with its big and layered space.
Kids won’t get bored here because of the variety. You’ve got the usual high-energy stuff—trampolines, climbing walls, swings.
But they also have something for imaginative play. There’s a mini world of role-play zones like kitchens, markets, and even a hospital setup. Several parents mentioned their kids bouncing between activities for hours and still not wanting to leave.
They don’t have arcades here, but they have something a little similar—the augmented reality (AR) wall. Not a lot of indoor playgrounds have this. It turns throwing balls into interactive games, which adds a modern twist.
We see this playground as a space where you can lose track of time. And when that happens, the cafe has something to offer for those who get hungry and thirsty. From what we’ve heard, the selection punches above typical playground standards.
However, not everything is spotless (literally). One of the concerning issues we’ve heard is around cleanliness. There are mentions of grime buildup and leftover food debris, which earned headshakes from our team.
We had a really great time
“We visited last week and had a really great time (especially the kids)! There were 2 levels with slides, trampolines, mazes, hospitals, grocery stores, mario kart, kitchen, ballpits, makeup station, etc. There was a birthday party when we came so too many kids and the toys were all over the place, but overall, still clean, safe, and functional. I’m impressed with the food – it’s rare to fund such pretty and delicious dishes at a playground because they taste like they came out straight of a restaurant. Overall, very memorable for both kids and parents.”

My boys loved everything Planet Mino had to offer
“A great day out with the kids. My boys loved everything planet Mino had to offer. We spent two and a half hours here and the boys still wanted to stay longer. The food was so good especially the smoothie. They is so much to offer with heaps of role playing imagination. We will definitely be back!”

3. Miniversal Kids Cafe

Address: 24-28 Murray St, Marrickville
Phone: +61 2 9390 3017
Business hours: Monday to Sunday: 9 AM – 5 PM
A day out doesn’t have to be a choice between a cafe and a playground. Miniversal Kids Cafe proves that by offering both. Parents and kids can have a great time here.
We noticed that the outside can be a little deceptive. We were expecting something modest and walked into a mini indoor theme park. However, the layout was designed to keep kids moving rather than clustering in one spot.
There’s a lot of variety here. Downstairs alone already feels like a complete experience with a pretend supermarket, kitchen play, ride-on cars, and multiple ball pits.
Then you’ve got the upstairs doubling down with dress-up, building zones, and more physical play.
We also noticed their effort to cater to different age groups. There are play areas dedicated to toddlers.
One of their standout trait for us, though, would be their cleanliness and upkeep. They really enforce the socks-only play, and bathrooms and baby changing areas are in good shape.
While the place is still relatively new, there are some areas that are starting to show wear. Not really a dealbreaker, but worth noting for some people.
The space is clean, safe and appealing
“I wish my kids would remain little🥰 for longer so I can take them to Miniverse more often… The staff are attentive, caring and fantastic with kids! The space is clean, safe and appealing to kids and creates a nice atmosphere for parents to relax and interact with one another. The food is fresh and delicious with a good spread of options. We recommend Miniverse for a family day out and birthday parties alike. Oh, and the set ups were so, so beautiful and cute!!! You can enjoy your whole day there as the venue is also quite large. Thank you for having us”

4. Vitaland Kids Cafe Alexandria

Address: Homemaker Centre, Shop 11, Level 1, 3/59 O’Riordan St, Alexandria
Phone: +61 4 7855 9471
Business hours:
- Monday to Friday: 9 AM – 5 PM
- Saturday: 9 AM – 4 PM
- Sunday: 9 AM – 5 PM
After visiting Vitaland Kids Cafe Alexandria, we could say that it leans into two things: polished party hosting and a visually appealing play space.
The biggest standout is how well they handle birthday parties. Multiple parents pointed to a really smooth setup. They offer private rooms, coordinated decorations, food sorted for both kids and adults, and even details like balloons per chair.
The play area also deserves its consistent praises. It’s spotless, bright, and relatively new. Some of the attractions that ultimately please the crowd include the ball pits, a mini train, a merry-go-round, and more.
It’s not reinventing the concept of indoor play, but it executes it well enough that kids keep asking to come back. And whenever that happens, parents can noticeably feel that in financial strains.
The bigger friction point is how the pricing is structured here. Entry doesn’t include access to the rides, which are an additional cost. We felt that at least one ride should’ve been included as a baseline.
Food gets a lot of love, though. The cafe area offers good portions and delicious snacks!
The staff were very good – so professional and well organized
“Excellent – we held our granddaughters birthday party here and It was my first time at Vitaland Alexandria and WOW we were very impressed! We had a private party room which was great. The staff were very good – so professional and well organized. The food, denials, cake and party decorations were all fantastic. The kids loved the ball pit; the train ride; and the merry go round. A terrific time was enjoyed by all. Well done.”

A perfect place for a couple of hours of fun for the kids
“A perfect place for a couple of hours of fun for the kids. I’ve been more than once, for different reasons, and it’s clear they’re improving the facilities. As a suggestion, perhaps they could improve the cleanliness and remove the old toys. Regarding the menu, maybe they could add something healthier than chips, nuggets, or cupcakes, as an alternative for families. Clear rules, very considerate and friendly staff.”

5. Jungle Buddies – Party and Play

Address: 2/97 Queens Rd, Five Dock
Phone: +61 1 300 883 819
Business hours:
- Monday to Tuesday: Closed
- Wednesday to Friday: 9 AM – 4 PM
- Saturday: 9 AM – 5 PM
- Sunday: 9 AM – 4:30 PM
Jungle Buddies’ play structure is the headline act. You’re looking at an indoor jungle setup packed with slides, climbing zones, air cannons, trampolines, and more.
For children around 4 and up, this is basically their version of a theme park. Parents said their kids could run wild for hours and still not get bored, especially with the added bonus of unlimited play after parties.
They’re great at handling and hosting birthday parties too. They usually handle the itinerary and guide parents through the process, so they don’t need to think too much. Their services span from pre-planning to timing and even cleanup.
When it comes to food, their portion sizes are generous. It’s good enough to impress adults, not just kids.
That said, there are some practical comfort issues for adults. We noticed that there are limited seating, so parents need to stand for long periods. It’s a shame, considering adults are paying for entry too.
The playground is quite big
“I had a pleasant visit to this place. Nice hospitality from the staff especially Blake who took care of us. The playground is quite big, so many things kid can try. My kid loved being there and he told me he wanted to come again. The car parking is in the basement. Easy parking.”

Will visit next week again!
“First time visited, my boy and i loved it! My boy is nearly 3 and likes extreme stuff. He went to every single corner and tried all – he likes all slides!!! Area is big enough for him to play, and we were there for full 3 hours and no stop running. Staff are very friendly and helpful. I hope this place is close to my home haha. I was there on Wednesday and was not very busy and when we left at 1.30 there only only 2 groups of families. I’m not sure how busy it is on the weekend. Will visit next week again!”
